From Weddings to What Comes Next: Why I Became a Mortgage Agent

If you’ve been here for a while, you probably know me from Lily on the Thames (Lotta) Flowers.

For nearly a decade, that business was such a big part of my life.

I had the chance to work with hundreds of brides during one of the most meaningful moments they’ll ever experience. It was creative, fast-paced, and something I genuinely loved being part of.

But over time, something started to shift.

Wanting to stay part of the story

What I loved most about Lotta wasn’t just the flowers—it was the people.

The conversations, the trust, the feeling of helping someone bring something important to life.

But weddings are one moment.

And I found myself wanting to stay part of what comes next.

As those same lives grow into homes, families, and everything that follows, I wanted to continue working with the people I had connected with—just in a different way.

A natural next step

At the same time, my own life was evolving.

My kids were getting older.
Our priorities were shifting.
And I was thinking more about long-term decisions—financially and personally.

Things like:

  • how we structure our mortgage

  • how we manage debt

  • how we build a life that feels both full and sustainable

Those conversations were already happening in my own home.

Becoming a mortgage agent didn’t feel like a complete change—it felt like a natural extension of what I already care about.

A different kind of support

This isn’t about becoming “salesy” or pushing numbers.

If anything, it’s the opposite.

It’s about helping people:

  • understand their options

  • feel confident in their decisions

  • and move forward in a way that fits their real life

The same way I approached weddings—thoughtfully, personally, and with attention to detail—is how I approach this.

Still me, just a new chapter

Lotta Flowers isn’t something I’m walking away from—it’s something I’m incredibly proud of.

It gave me the chance to build something from the ground up, connect with so many amazing people, and learn how to show up for others in meaningful ways.

That doesn’t go away.

If anything, it’s the foundation for what I’m doing now.

What this means going forward

If you’ve worked with me before—or followed along over the years—this is just a new way I can support you.

Whether you’re:

  • buying your first home

  • moving into your next one

  • refinancing

  • or just starting to think about what’s possible

I’m here to help you navigate it.

In a way that feels clear, calm, and completely doable.

Final thoughts

This isn’t a sudden shift.

It’s something that’s been building quietly over time.

And it feels like the right next step—not just for me, but for the people I’ve always loved working with.

If you’re curious about your options, or just want to talk something through, you’re always welcome to reach out.
